Humber College is affirming its commitment to health and well- being with the recent launch of two initiatives.
The Soupbar, a partnership between Humber, IGNITE (the student association) and Feed it Forward takes food donated by restaurants, businesses and the Humber Arboretum’s learning garden and turns it into soup. The Soupbar operates on a pay-what-you-can basis.
Humber is also Canada’s first public college to adopt the Okanagan Charter. By signing the Charter, Humber is incorporating health into everyday operations, business practices and academic mandates to support students, staff and faculty.
“We want to create an environment where we are more reflective and intentional about identifying the health and wellness needs of all members of our community,” says Chris Whitaker, Humber president and CEO.
