Animals are important. Pets become family, farm animals support our lives, and wildlife are a vital part of the ecosystem we all share. Now’s your chance to protect them.
1 USE LESS PLASTIC
Reusable bags and water bottles keeps our oceans cleaner and keeps trash out of the bellies of sea animals. Cut looped plastics and packaging including bag handles to stop curious animals from becoming caught.
2 SHOP AND EAT KINDER
Read the labels and look for organic and free-range. And if you don’t see those options at your favourite shop or restaurant, ask about it. Using your buying power for good can help improve the lives of millions of animals on farms across Canada.
3 HAVE A PLAN
Make sure your pet is protected in an emergency with a plan and supplies. More than just having food and water on hand, keep medicine, vaccination records and a recent photo next to their carrier. Download our full list of tips to keep you both safe at worldanimalprotection.ca.
4 BE WELL TRAVELLED
Only see wildlife in the wild, never ride an elephant, swim with captive dolphins or take a selfie with a wild animal. Do your research before you book to make sure your vacation activities aren’t harming wildlife. Instead, see animals at genuine sanctuaries and in the wild, where they belong.
5 TAKE ACTION
Signing petitions at worldanimalprotection.ca moves companies and governments to protect animals. Your voice makes a huge impact.
