Engineers, engineering technicians, and technologists have always been at the forefront of technological advances. From communications technology, to cars, all the way to space exploration or health, competition in engineering breeds innovation, and innovation creates progress.
For 27 years National Engineering Month (NEM) has celebrated engineering pride and knowledge. Beginning March 1st, Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO), the Ontario Association
of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT), and the Ontario Society of Professional Engineers (OSPE) will once again help celebrate the community’s accomplishments.
Guests, professionals and newcomers alike can explore, discover and appreciate how engineering, science and engineering technology improve lives — locally and worldwide. ‘Hack-a-thons’, design challenges and the chance to meet “Super Engineers” are all on the ticket for NEM 2018; showcasing close to 500 dynamic engineering and engineering tech events across Ontario.
No matter your location or experience with engineering, setting sights on the innovation is sure to pique interest to new attendees. Whether through health sciences or what’s going on with your tablet, cell phone and laptop, visitors are destined to come out of the events with a deeper understanding and appreciation for the devices that affect our day-to-day lives.
For nearly three decades NEM has provided innovative engineering and engineering technology forums and activities that run alongside major events across the country. With a mantra of ‘There’s a Place for You!’ the events are incredibly inclusive, open to all ages and backgrounds, with members always looking to educate and inspire others in the field.
