Founded in 1972, The Toronto Consort is Canada’s leading ensemble specializing in music for the Middle Ages, Renaissance. Performing at the acoustically beautiful Trinity-St. Paul’s Centre (427 Bloor St. West), The Consort, a group of nine singers and players, presents a five-production (12 performances) mainstage concert series, tours extensively across North America and Europe, records for film and television (including the hit series The Tudors and The Borgias), and is releasing its 15th album in autumn 2019. The 2018–2019 Season is bursting with the colours of early music: from glittering 17th-century Rome to the enchanting soundscapes of the 21st century.
COMING UP NEXT: Fall in love with the mysterious sounds of early instruments and voice at Love, Remixed (February 15th–16th) or come explore the sounds of an ancient city with Four Quarters of Jerusalem (March 8th–9th). We close the season with Night Games (May 3rd–5th)— a musical roast where nothing is too gauche (featuring drama and dance by commedia dell’arte master, Marie-Nathalie Lacoursière).
Tickets, starting at only $26, are on sale at TorontoConsort.org or by calling 416-964-6337.
