The 48th annual JUNO Awards are quickly approaching with just two weeks until the main event. This year’s awards are taking place in London, Ontario at Budwesier Gardens, and this is not an event you want to miss out on.
Sarah McLachlan will be hosting the broadcast for the awards, presented by CBC, which will feature performances by artists such as The Recklaws (“Feels like That”) and francophone singer, Couer de Pirate.
Shawn Mendes leads the list of nominees for this year with six nominations, including Artist of the Year. The Weeknd, Alessia Cara, and Michael Buble are also up for nominations, making an exciting turnout for this year’s show.
Also being presented at this year’s JUNO awards are special achievements such as the induction of Corey Hart into the Canadian Hall of Fame. This year, Corey is recognized with this honour for his contribution towards greater international recognition of Canadian artists and music.
If you are in the area for the week of the show, be sure to check out some of these once-in-a-lifetime opportunities such as JUNO Stories from the Studio, or JUNO Fan Fare, and get your chance for meet and greets with your favourite artists.
You can’t get more Canadian than playing hockey for a Canadian Music Awards Event. So why not check out the JUNO Cup and watch Canadian Musicians face off against hockey stars like Doug Gilmour and Gary Roberts, in a celebrity fundraising hockey game.
Special events like these will be taking place all week beginning Monday, March 11, up until the awards show on Sunday, March 17, beginning at 8 p.m. EST.
