One in five children diagnosed with cancer will die from the disease. It affects families physically, mentally, emotionally and financially.
For over 30 years, Childhood Cancer Canada has been supporting families through their cancer journey. Our foundation dedicates funds to life-saving research while delivering outreach, education and community programs.
It’s important to understand that childhood cancer not only affects the child diagnosed but their entire family and community. Children with cancer spend a lot of the time in the hospital, missing interacting with their friends, and losing part of their education. Families can lose their homes, jobs and face financial uncertainty while attending to their ill child. Their siblings often feel neglected as the parents’ focus is placed with their child stricken with cancer.
Childhood Cancer Canada depends on donations to fund research and programs that are so critical. We believe children should not only survive, but also thrive.
On February 15th we launch the 2019 Survivor Scholarship Program, giving childhood cancer survivors the opportunity to pursue post-secondary education.
Applicants get the chance to receive $1,500 or $5,000 scholarships. If your company would like to be part of this initiative, contact us!
From diagnosis and through every step of a child’s journey, Childhood Cancer Canada will be there to support Canadian families. The focus is on saving, enhancing and extending the lives of kids with cancer. We are now on our own journey, to grow our foundation so that we can help more kids and their families in more ways. Please join us.
