It’s almost over … this is the last month of winter, I promise. Our Toronto Maple Leafs and Raptors are obviously keeping you warm because they are on FIRE. Happy March. Your luck is about to change because our city is about to be showered with the luck of the Irish. Are you a Pisces? If you are this is your time to shine. My partner, Tyler, is a Pisces … they are an intense group of people. Whatever you do, DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT forget a Pisces’ birthday or you will be blacklisted! Here are some things you need to know about a Pisces’ strengths; they are compassionate, artistic, intuitive, gentle, wise, and musical. As for weaknesses, they are fearful, overly trusting, sad, want to escape reality, and can be a victim or a martyr. Pisces like being alone, sleeping, music, romance, visual media, swimming, and spiritual themes. Pisces dislike a know- it-all, being criticized, the past coming back to haunt, and cruelty of any kind… Have a great March and always be ONtheGO!
AFTER YOU, MY BEER
Toronto Winter Brewfest is relocating to Evergreen Brick Works for its fourth and largest installment of the annual craft beer festival taking place March 1–2. With 150 craft brews, an outdoor skating rink, and a speakeasy to discover, this is one winter warm-up you don’t want to miss. Uber or taxi there … and have a pint or 7 for me. You and I both know you need to get your liver ready for St. Patty’s Day.
STING IN TOWN!
Have you seen Sting walking the streets of the #yyz lately? Well he has been here since February, starring in his very own musical The Last Ship. Here is what I know about the performance … it’s starring Sting, the music is written by Sting, and tickets are expensive! If you are a STING fan you will love to see him take the stage at the Princess of Wales Theatre. But if you want to save money, just hang around the backstage door around 530 p.m. when he arrives for hair and makeup!
HAPPY ST PATRICK’S DAY!
Luck of the Irish! God Bless all you Irish beauties. We love your accents, we love your land in all its beauty, and we love how you can drink us under the table! One of my best friends is Irish, Michelle — she takes this day very seriously. I think she started planning her wardrobe in January. Her opening act is a Big Boy can of Guinness with a spicy caesar on the side… the time, 11:01 a.m. Don’t worry, she will go on strong until 2:01 a.m. If you have Irish employees be sure to give them Monday off! Respect the Irish!
The end of winter is near and our boys of summer are back! Amen! You survived! Our Toronto Blue Jays take on the Detroit Tigers. I would really like to know who does the schedule, I find it very interest- ing that the game starts 3:37 p.m … can you please message me and explain! It is always an exciting time for our city when all three sports teams are playing at once. Our Leafs and Raptors are about to head into the playoffs, and even if you don’t like sports, you can definitely feel the energy that makes Toronto an exciting city place to be. Go Toronto Go!
RESTAURANT OF THE MONTH
The restaurant scene in our city always excites me! Petty Cash, located in the heart of Toronto, is a unique space brought together by King West’s very own, Chef Nate Middleton (Home of the Brave), and Chef Steven Gonzalez (Baro). Sparked with quirky personalities, fresh food and drinks, neon signs, graffiti faced walls, and a hip-hop vibe, Petty Cash is bringing some heart and soul to the corner of Portland and Adelaide. When it’s all said and done, the service at Petty Cash was the true prize of my experience. I had the pleasure of being served by outgoing and caring employees who truly transformed my experience from a simple outing into night to remember. Balancing their individual characters while upholding the conscious values of the restaurant, the service was playful and effi- cient, enhancing the carefree environment. Whether you are catching a game, gabbing over your long week, or dancing until the next morning, Petty Cash Social House has proven to be welcomed with warm arms by the King West community and has quickly becoming a fan favourite. This is definitely my pick of the month! They will be having a St. Patty’s Day party not to miss! Have an amazing month!
