Did you catch your breath? What a rush! What a season! What a team! (I am going to get in trouble from our editor for using too many exclamation points again) Congrats to our NBA World Champions, the Toronto Raptors! I am currently still standing in line to get Raptors swag but it’s worth every minute. Happy July!
What a great way to kick off the summer in the #yyz. Festival City is in full force. From uptown to downtown there is a festival happening in every corner of the city and we are celebrating every culture, every race, and most importantly, every type of food.
Summer in our city is delicious and so are YOU. Our job is to make sure you are well informed and always OUT on The Town.
No matter what age you are Canada’s Wonderland is a must at least once every summer! Last month I took my fiancé’s mother who had such an amazing time we were actually the last ones in the park and had to be kicked out. SO MUCH FUN!
The shows are adorable and the rides are incredible. The biggest roller coaster in the world is on location and let me tell you I have never in my life experienced anything like it. I was scared for my life… but my mother-in-law to be went twice! Yes, the line-ups are long and the food is overpriced, but who cares, it’s the best day ever for you and your entire family. Just be sure to wear buckets of sunscreen and stay hydrated. The park is now open until Halloween!
Toronto Fringe Festival
July 3–July 14
Over 150 shows, thousands of performances, world-class entertainment … you will laugh, you will cry, and you will obviously enjoy. The best way to do this festival is to navigate all the shows you want to see online. Great to do with a group of friends, a date night, or even enjoy on your own.
Waiting For Tonight for Jenny From The Block so we can all Dance Again at the Scotiabank Centre. JLO is hands down the most talented triple threat in the world. What is your favorite JLO movie of all time? There are so many moments, movies, and songs where JLO has jumped into our hearts and now it’s your chance to see her jump on the stage.
I love seeing JLO in concert! It will be a non-stop night of energy and excitement! My Dad, Mike Chalut Sr, also claims her as his girlfriend – so if you are reading this A-Rod … STEP AWAY.
We always hear about the king of the restaurant and nightlife scene, Charles Kabouth — who is celebrated for creating adult playgrounds for over two decades in the city — but have you ever wondered who is the queen? Brenda Lowes (who every-body knows) has been wining and dining our city and visiting celebrities for years.
Leading the way in food and hospitality with her catering company, Brenda has also created a delicious night life scene, owning and operating several hot spots in Toronto. The Gaarden, located at 314 Queen Street West, is now open for business and is the sexiest roof-top oasis around. Check it out and be sure to tell Brenda, Mike says hi! Doors open Wednesday to Sunday at 4pm and the menu is tapas for big or little groups to share.
July 19–July 21
One location – Ontario Place – and all the pizza in the world! Pizza, pasta, mangia, mangia. There are no words. Just go and eat your guts out. Every slice you can dream of and don’t let anyone tell you to stop. Most importantly, don’t count how many pieces you eat … just roll out of Ontario like a big Italian meatball proud.
Our city is flooded with visitors in July. It is your responsibility to be a fun loving Canadian and roll out the red carpet for everyone and anyone that looks lost. If you are a visitor, welcome to Toronto.
Do not be afraid to ask for directions in the YYZ, most of us are kind … but most of us are lost as well. This fast paced city of ours always has something going on and our team of writers will keep you connected and most importantly ONtheGO … Have a great July!
