A vacation at home can sometime be more stressful than soothing, but that doesn’t have to be the case. Here are four suggestions to help make your staycation more enjoyable.
TIP 1: KNOW YOUR OUTCOME
Have a clear vision of what you want to feel, experience, and spend on your holiday. This clarity will keep you focused and on budget.
TIP 2: GET CREATIVE
Doing the same thing can become boring quick, so explore and try something new. Go for a hike, try skydiving, or take a cooking class with the whole family. Use your time to introduce something you’ve always wanted to do.
TIP 3: GET HELP
The reality of a staycation is there will be daily chores, but you don’t have to tackle them alone — everyone in the family can pitch in and help. Delegate a task and allot a time frame so all members start and finish at the same time. This eases the work and stress load and makes planning easier.
TIP 4: FIND TIME TO BE ALONE
Everyone needs alone time to quiet their mind. Take at least fifteen minutes away to disconnect with the external world each day.
Once you’ve mastered this, your life can be like a vacation everyday.
