Nope, we’re not joking. The world’s largest spider, the Goliath Birdeater, is currently living at the ROM for the next two months.
How big is the world’s biggest spider? By weight the Goliath Birdeater weighs around 6 ounces but their legs can be up to a foot long! The scariest thing about this spider is it is basically a giant tarantula that actually eats birds and anything smaller than it!
The Goliath is part of the museum’s Spiders: Fear & Fascination exhibit. If you’re not scared of spiders you can get up close and personal to the Goliath and other spiders. Aung the Goliath Birdeater spider the ROM has over 400 spiders some preserved and some alive.
Let’s pray that this thing doesn’t escape the ROM!
Will you be checking out the Fear & Fascination exhibit at the ROM or are you planning on leaving the city for the next two months?
