It’s no secret that in today’s bacon loving world, vegan food gets a bad rap. People often assume vegan food is tasteless and all vegans eat is tofu, but in reality this couldn’t be further from the truth. Vegan food can actually be quite delicious when done right, and the city of Toronto is city on a gold mine of tasty vegan restaurants.
Here are some of Toronto’s best vegan locations and their best dishes that will make even the most stubborn non-vegans fall in love. No matter what your mood or craving, there is a delicious vegan option to satisfy it in Toronto!

When to go: When you want to experience life-changing brunch
What to try: Caramelized Banana and Chocolate Chip Pancakes
Cosmic Treats is one of the newer vegan restaurants in Toronto and tends to shy away from the typical health-conscious food. Owner, Elliot Alexander has made it his mission to create a menu full of delicious comfort food for vegans and non-vegans alike.

When to go: When you’re feeling healthy
What to try: Smoothie Bowls
Rawlicious was one of the first vegan restaurants to hit the streets of Toronto, and as the name suggests, everything here is completely raw. From salad bowls to sweet treats, all of the meals are jam packed with nutrients. Rawlicious also offers juice cleanse programs and catering.

When to go: When the McDonald’s craving hits
What to try: Vegan Mac Daddy
Doomie’s is home to the “Vegan Big Mac”. Yep, a real Big Mac, sans the animal products – it even comes boxed up like a McDonald’s Big Mac. They’ve got the famous Big Mac sauce down perfectly, so your friends won’t even be able to tell that this burger didn’t actually come from a McDonald’s.

When to go: When you need takeout comfort food
What to try: Tater Tot Nachos
Apiecalypse might just be the ultimate junk food heaven. Serving up delicious slices of pizza, freshly baked donuts, and a crazy assortment of other dishes from jalapeño poppers to tater tot nachos, there is something for everyone here. The restaurant itself is tiny and there’s usually a lineup out the door, so I recommend staying in your PJ’s and ordering takeout from this delicious joint.
