Clear Skies, Lollipops, and Rainbows! Yes that is my weather report for the month of May. Let the sunshine smack you in the face and get outside! Crank up the BBQs, order a bottle or 2 at one of Toronto’s sexiest patios and move that body! Helllllooooo May!
We all know that this is the month for you to roll out the red carpet for your Momma! That woman changed your diapers, folded 20,000 pairs of your underwear, made you countless meals and is always your cheerleader. Now is the time to make your mother shine! May 11th — mark it down and invest your time in planning a day for her.
May is such happy month! So make everything happy all around you — including your home. Take the time this month to brighten up your home with a splash of colour and the fresh smell of flowers. The polar vortex is dead and buried so take a visit to Avenue and Davenport and buy your home some fresh new life! Twenty dollars a week will make all the difference and help you smile every day when you walk out the door. Just make sure to water them and use ice cubes to keep them living strong! Visit Grower’s Flower Market located at 126 Avenue Road, Tel: 416.920.2442 — she is the Orchid Queen and gives Martha Stewart a run for her money!
So what are your plans? What are you going to do first? Shop for that bright new shirt? Spring clean your home? Take a run on the waterfront? Whatever you decide it’s time to move! Toronto is full of beautiful places to go, stunning people to see, and I am about to give you a play by play of May…

Mother’s Day • May 11th
Think out the box this year! Do something different for your Mother! Yorkville is always a great destination to make mom happy! Beautiful places to walk and great boutiques to shop. Nespresso Cafe Headquarters located at 159 Cumberland is a great place to start, sip on decadent coffee treats
and embrace the beauty that Yorkville has to offer. I suggest you only bring one credit card — with all the shops you may get yourself into trouble!
Victoria Day Weekend • May 19th
The first long weekend of sunshine and heat! If you are heading to cottage country I am happy to tag along! I can’t cook but I can clean! I am happy to clean up after everyone if I can just get a lift — I can’t drive either! If that isn’t an option there is so much excitement happening in our city. If you plan to stay home and watch the fireworks, there will be multiple different viewing options offered in the city. In the past years, my favourite firework shows have been at Ashbridges Bay and Canada’s Wonderland. The fireworks display at Canada’s Wonderland usually starts at 10pm and the show is included with park admission. There’s a good chance you can catch the fireworks from the comfort of your own backyard if you live nearby. The fireworks show at Ashbridges Bay (south of Lakeshore Road East and Coxwell Avenue) has often started at 9:45 in the past years, and lasts a long 15 minutes, but be sure to head to the Beaches neighbourhood early to get a good seat! Remember these shows are weather-permitting and subject to change, so be sure to confirm dates and times close to the date.
