Relaunching Careers. Retaining top female talent in Canadian capital markets since 2010.
In the quest for top talent, the financial industry recognizes that there is an under-utilized pool of highly skilled potential talent that has stepped temporarily away from their careers to raise families and another in new Canadians who bring unrealized, extraordinary experience. Accordingly, in 2010, major Canadian financial institutions joined forces with WCM to launch Return to Bay Street, a returnship program for women looking to relaunch their careers in finance.
Now in its tenth consecutive year, to date this program has facilitated the relaunch of 63 senior professional women’s careers in capital markets. Of these recipients, 76% remain in the industry,
32% received promotions and 84% progressed their careers in the same firm in which they were placed. Each year, the program continues to gain momentum, visibility, and reaches new levels of success. Women in Capital Markets (WCM) is a not-for-profit organization that creates solutions through advocacy, programming, research and recruitment to accelerate gender diversity in Canadian finance.
