Women’s College Hospital
Dream believes in building better communities. Women’s College Hospital is building the hospital of the future. And, thus, the perfect partnership was born.
Created in 1994, Dream is a leading Canadian real estate management, investment, and development company. Since its inception, Dream has thrived on a clear but simple purpose: to build better communities.
Given the company’s purpose, it is no surprise that Dream and Michael Cooper, the company’s co-founder, President and CEO, have together donated $1 million to Women’s College Hospital (WCH). “By partnering with WCH, Mr. Cooper and Dream are showcasing the change that’s made possible when business leaders and community partners come together towards a shared vision,” says Kathy Hay, President and CEO of Women’s College Hospital Foundation.
The hospital and its people have values, goals and a culture that align very closely with Dream’s. I left my meeting at WCH feeling energized and inspired to find ways to work together to share our experiences in innovation and leadership.
We are always striving to build better communities, and have been very supportive of initiatives that focus on the advancement and well-being of women. WCH brings all these things together in a unique and innovative way, which immediately drew us to them.
Why give now?
WCH is undergoing enormous change with the building of its new state-of-the-art, ambulatory care facility set to open later this year. This seemed like an ideal time to contribute to and support its growth and new research initiatives. We are excited to be a part of this, and know that a project of this scale will have a deep impact on women’s health and the future of healthcare in our city and our country.
What do you hope this partnership makes possible?
I hope that this partnership will give Dream and its employees the chance to learn from WCH’s success stories in innovation and leadership. While we come from different spheres, we are united by common values and a dedication to bettering our communities. This is just the beginning of what I know will be a long and valuable partnership.
This is the future of healthcare. Thank you, Michael Cooper and Dream, for showing us that, together, we can build better communities.
